Laury Livengood Blair

I try really hard not to get too "heavy" with this blog. My main objective originally was to show pictures of quilts and throw in a few family and fun pictures. But today, I need to be a bit emotional and talk about one of my quilting friends. Laury Blair owned a quilt shop in Potosi, Missouri. Potosi is the county seat where I grew up. We pass within a few feet of the shop everytime we go visit our folks (which has been a lot lately). So needless to say, we stop almost every time so I can see what fabric Laury has and to visit with her a bit. We've known each other since we were young teenagers--we were in 4-H clubs together and went to some camps and other 4-H events. Her name then was Laury Livengood--isn't that a cool last name? I found out today that Laury was killed in a car accident Sunday. She was 54 years old and leaves her husband Dennis, 2 daughters and a sweet little granddaughter who is about a year old. Laury loved fabric, quilts and antiques. She's pictured here modeling a cool retro coat she had for sale in her shop. I know she will be missed by MANY people including me. I hope to see her in heaven one day.
