birthday celebration

February is a very busy month for birthdays in our family. This week our youngest grandson, Timothy celebrated his 4th. Unbelievable! It seems like just yesterday we were holding him in our arms. He and Gabe had their joint birthday party at an indoor pool last Sunday. More on Timothy later...
for now I'll just say, we are truly blessed to have him.

More Valentines

Two more pictures to finish out the LOVE/RED theme for the month:

I made this little pillow a couple of years ago. It's made of wool on a flannel background.
This little quilt is woven. I made it in a class I took about 4 years ago. Since then, I've seen some really stunning woven quilts so they have inspired me to try again.

Apparantly, I have had my "comments setting" on the wrong thing and many of you have been unable to comment. I've corrected that now, so try again. (you can click on "anonymous", but sign your name on the comment if you want me to know who you are)

Happy Valentine's Day

In keeping with the red/heart theme for Valentine's Day, here is the table runner that matches the quilt. It's also flannel and was also quilted by Donna T.

Happy Valentine's Day

I finally finished my heart quilt that I started over 2 years ago. I made a table runner with a heart theme and decided to make a quilt to match it. Deciding and actually doing it are two different things. I DID start it, but it got shoved aside. I've included some close-up shots to show off the beautiful quilting that Donna T. did for me. She's a really good machine quilter and she never disappoints me. I did some of the embroidery by hand and some on my new Phaff machine that I got for Christmas. I'm having a good time learning all the "magic" tricks it does. It practically sews by itself!

The quilt is all flannel except for the back.

February 9--a special day for us

Nine years ago today God gave our family a very special gift...Gabe, our first grandchild. He manages to light up our lives in many ways. We celebrated tonight.

I'm back

We just got back from 8 days in MO (again). Tim's mom was admitted to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis where she has several teams of doctors working trying to find out exactly what's wrong with her. We stopped on our way back to see Tim's dad who had heart surgery Dec. 1. He is still recovering and doing much better now. He's pictured here with the flannel "get well" quilt I made for him.
