We returned from a 4th of July family reunion in Missouri last week. My 91 year old uncle decided to climb over a gate and fell and broke his hip. Didn't completely ruin the reunion.....we managed to get part of the family gathered for a picture before the ambulance took him away. He was all smiles and is recuperating well.
The day we returned, my son suffered from heat exhaustion (he works outside) and I spent several hours with him in the ER and urgent care. He spent 3 days recovering at our house (getting lots of mama care) and is doing well now. Here he is BEFORE that happened after successfully assembling this grill for us. Isn't he handsome?!
Older daughter and I have been gifted many cucumbers. Our family LOVES pickles so we've had 3 sessions of making dill pickles, and today a batch of Bread and Butter pickles, too.
I made this quilt for our niece who is expecting her first baby next month.
And I made this dress for Nola.
We had two birthdays in June. Oldest daughter (I love her Statue of Liberty halo!) and youngest grandson.

Ok....I think I'm caught up now. Oldest grandson is spending the night tonight. I need rest!

i'm glad that Handsome Son is doing okay now - it's amazing how much water it takes to stay hydrated and not develop heat exhaustion, innit?!?
you know what Michael Myson says about pickles - they are cucumbers soaked in evil - but i LOVE bread and butter pickles cuz they are so yummy!!!
