Introducing....

Introducing...Wesley Joseph.

He was born tonight (June 29) at 10:01 p.m. He weighed 6 lb., 13 oz. which is TINY for a baby in this family.   He's absolutely adorable.Here he is with his Popple Tim and his Aunt Dre (Andrea) who was there to document his first moments  (She's a professional photographer so I'm sure I'll be stealing some fabulous pictures from her soon.  He was only  about 40 minutes old here.And I guess I should include a couple of shots of him with the people who are responsible...my very tired and worn out daughter, Calista and her proud as a peacock husband, Chris. 

He reacted to the flashes from the cameras and the bright lights in the room which is very good.  His brother Timothy has a sight empairment and this baby had a 50% chance of having the same thing (even total blindness).  We are rejoicing and praising the Lord for this good sign of sight!!!  It's been a long day (mostly for Calista), but hey! what about me! I listened to Timothy chatter ALL DAY LONG!  ha ha

Old Stuff

I was looking for something to post and came across these pictures of postcards I made back in 2006. I think they're pretty cute and I wish I would make some more of them because I mailed both of these to friends. But right now, I'm too excited to do much of anything... ...Tuesday is the day. I'll be a grandma--again. Or a "Mama T" as I'm called in this family.
Calista will be induced and I'll be taking care of her other two boys. I'm sure I'll be posting pictures by Wednesday. Stay tuned.

Projects

I finished up this little charity quilt that I started at our stitch group lake retreat. I love striped bindings.

Just a few more days and I'll be grandma again. Calista is finishing up projects for little Wesley's room. Here's the wall hanging she embroidered. Her blogging friend Nichole Lorenze drew the picture (Winken, Blinken and Nod). Calista used some metalic threads and it really looks good. I pieced it and quilted it.

Wesley will make his appearance on or before June 29.

Green Country Quilters' Guild Show 2010

I've picked out a few of my favorites to show you. This "X-Block" was made by my friend Colleen Bland.

Greta McGregor designed and made this one. She has her own pattern business.


I love brights against dark colors.

I think this was one of the judge's choice awards.

A Sue Spargo pattern. I love her stuff.

Lavena Rager made this one. We work together at the Cotton Patch.

Another bright one on a dark background. Love it!





Colleen Bland made this one, too. She didn't want to enter it, so it was sneaked out of her house. LOL

Doesn't Leslie look good "modeling" this quilt?

This one won "Best of Show". If I understood correctly, the maker quilted it on her home macine. Then, the batting was bearding so she completely "unquilted" it and quilted it again, this time with black batting, patching in white batting under the white fabrics. Unbelievable!

Winners from the Quilt Show

This quilt won the award for the Best Machine Quilting. A simple quilt, but the quilting was perfect. Quilted by Carol Furgason.

This was a judge's choice. A special award given by the family of a deceased guild memeber. Dolly Mosley hand appliqued and hand quilted it.

Quilts from the show

Remember those birthday blocks I made last year? They were for the Civil War Reproductions Club I'm in at the Cotton Patch. We give blocks to each other for our birthdays. Some people actually make them into quilts! LOL! Here is Leslie pointing out the block that she made in one of our friend's quilts (I think this is Jane's quilt)

No rest for the wicked

I thought I might get rested up from all of my activity the last few weeks, but no. There's a new grandboy on the way and things must be ready. So I've been helping Calista.

I'll post more pictures of the quilt show soon.

Tomorrow I meet with my stitch group after I see the eye doctor. Did I mention I had cataract surgery last week?

Now, I'm off to bed.
