A few more finished projects

I made these potholders to put in my son's stocking. He cooks now that he lives on his own (and he's lucky enough to have a roommate who is a really good cook).

This is an embroidered tea towel and quilted potholder I did for my stitch group exchange. Leslie was the recipient (by chance) Here's another one of those really easy cosmetic bags. Another last minute gift.

And a pillow I made a few years ago. It's out of one of Nancy Halverson's books.

I decided to make myself some new potholders. All of mine were old and greasy.

What would Christmas be without kids?

I helped Timothy decorate his gingerbread house one day at his pre-school. Here are the pictures (in reverse, of course) First...the finished product. I think he was proud of it. There was a lot of eating going on in between decorating. What kid doesn't love candy before 10 a.m.?

That little bear at Timothy's elbow reads the entire "Night Before Christmas". He's my new addition to Christmas this year.

Marler Christmas 2009

The Marler Village...hand painted by my kids and friends during a certain VERY HOT summer in Houston when our air conditioning was not working (1994, I think). My Christmas Quilt.

Paper pieced block

I'm going to be teaching a class on English Paper Piecing at the Cotton Patch in March. This is my sample block. All the pieces are hexagons--but just a little different. They're called honeycomb, not to be mistaken for elongated hexagons (even though they are a little big elongated)

Catching up on my Blog

I haven't been doing much quilting lately except for these little quilted cosmetic bags. My daughter, Calista is making them for her kids' school teachers and I'm helping her. They were so much fun that I ended up doing some for gifts, too. They're from the book, "Fat Quarter Fonts".

They only require 2 fat quarters and a zipper which is very easy to install. The insides are lined with the same fabric that the monogram is made of.

Maybe I'll make one for myself soon...Tomorrow (in my sewing room) she makes Christmas pajama pants for the men in her life (which includes boys). And did I mention that she's going to have a baby? Oh yeah, I'm going to be a Mama T again...around the 7th of July. Yippeee! A girl would be nice.

Biggest Loser

Our very own Danny Cahill just won Biggest Loser tonight. He's from right here in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He lost 239 lbs!!! We're so proud of him.
