Bright quilts

We bought a new sectional sofa.  My intent is to brighten up this place so my new quilts help in that area.  We've never had a sectional before so it's taking a little time to get used to it but we've decided we like it.

I made a table runner and coasters to match one of the quilts.  I LOVE this line of fabric.  It's called Simple Marks. (By Moda, I think).  I quilted it with wavy lines.

Here's my completed log cabin.  It's the one I finished with my sister.  See hers in the last post.

Catching up again

Lots of stuff going on!

We returned from a 4th of July family reunion in Missouri last week.  My 91 year old uncle decided to climb over a gate and fell and broke his hip.  Didn't completely ruin the reunion.....we managed to get part of the family gathered for a picture before the ambulance took him away.  He was all smiles and is recuperating well.

The day we returned, my son suffered from heat exhaustion (he works outside) and I spent several hours with him in the ER and urgent care.  He spent 3 days recovering at our house (getting lots of mama care) and is doing well now.  Here he is BEFORE that happened after successfully assembling this grill for us.  Isn't he handsome?!

Older daughter and I have been gifted many cucumbers.  Our family LOVES pickles so we've had 3 sessions of making dill pickles, and today a batch of Bread and Butter pickles, too.

I made this quilt for our niece who is expecting her first baby next month.

And I made this dress for Nola.

We had two birthdays in June.  Oldest daughter (I love her Statue of Liberty halo!) and youngest grandson.

Oops!  Sideways picture!

Ok....I think I'm caught up now. Oldest grandson is spending the night tonight. I need rest!

Sister's quilt

I had my sister Greta's top quilted for her (Ann Olson did a beautiful job!). And like the good sister that I am, I even put the binding on it for her.  We went to Missouri over the long weekend and I delivered it to her.  She was extremely pleased.  I hope to get mine back soon.  We made the tops together, starting in a class in Atlanta and finishing at my house over Memorial day weekend.

Houston Bound!

Guess what!!!  This quilt has been juried and accepted for the Houston International Quilt Market and Festival in an exhibit called "Ruby Jubilee".  It's a display of 125 red and red/white quilts for the show's 40th anniversary in October.  It will also travel next year to some other cities.  Am I excited?  Heck, Yeah!!!!!
